We Style + Design Existing Spaces

KB Home believes the power of styling and design can transform not just our spaces but our moods as well.

Typically, we work with clients who are looking to update, renovate or revamp an existing space. We assist with the finishing design elements (furniture, lighting, decor, pillows, window treatments, wall art, hardware, etc) and design selections that complete the space.

We’ll help you design your room based on how you want your home to feel and how you plan to use the space, all while considering budget and phase of life.

KB Home believes in taking the time to get to know our clients. We work closely to not only achieve your design goals, but assure the space is functioning as best it can with the floor plan + your lifestyle.

There’s something powerful about reworking your space so that it functions and flows as best it can. Once we nail down “flow” and “layout” its important to surround your space with the things you love and find beautiful. This can transform you mood, you outlook, and even your energy levels. Changing up our environments periodically (whether seasonally or just when our stages of life transition) can help you feel refreshed and balanced.

How We Do It

DISCOVER = The most important part of the project is getting to know your true, authentic self through conversations (both causal and more structured), as well as the use of questionnaires, mood boards and inspiration photos. 

CONSULT + CREATE = Together we’ll envision a space and create a design that makes you feel at home.

SOURCE = From elevated everyday items to pieces that add layers of character and charm to your space, we’ll thoughtfully curate and source everything we need to make your house feel warm and personal. We’ll evaluate items you’ve already invested in, then layer in what’s still needed to take your space to a designer level.

STYLE = We’ll bring all the furnishings and design details together and arrange the space in an intentional, fully designed way.

We think reimagining your spaces should be a fun experience for you. We’re here to help you–not to pressure you– into loving the space you call home. Hiring a designer shouldn’t feel intimidating. We love listening to what you have to say about what you like/dislike about your home, what your ideal style is, how you want your home to function, and guide you to accomplishing each.

Uproot

Have you recently moved into a new home, or planning on moving, and need design and styling help with a space that is new to you?

OR do you want professional design and styling advice so you can stage your home to sell? 

Then our Uproot service is for you! 

Designing A New Space

We’ll evaluate your furnishings from your previous home and determine what pieces to keep, explain what may no longer work, and select new items that function properly and create a beautiful design based on your budget, goals and lifestyle.

With our Uproot service, we use KB Home-sourced items to design and elevate your space.

OCCUPIED HOME STAGING

KB Home offers furnished home staging consultations. We have professional staging consultants to provide you with specific best practices, design recommendations, and next steps on how to successfully stage any home to sell. If any additional furnishings or decorative items are needed, we’ll give you general recommendations so you can source the items on your own or work with you to discuss ways we can take this off your plate.

Upgrade

With this service, we will help you upgrade your home to serve a new purpose or to have a whole new look and feel. 

Think: Turning your kids’ playroom into a tween hangout space or reworking your too-formal dining room to exude cool restaurant, lounge-y vibes.

We’ll get to know you and your style, then create a design that checks all the boxes for the look, feel, and function you’re looking for.

Under our upgrade service, we exclusively use KB Home-sourced items to design and elevate your space.

Update

With our Update service, we’ll help you restyle your space with what you already have and recommendations for some new items to give it a fresh look and feel. 

We’ll get to know you and your style, evaluate what you own, then create a design with the look, feel, and function you’re going for. 

Under this service, we use a combination of your existing items and retail pieces to design and update your space.

* Anything sourced through retailers is the client’s responsibility to order, purchase, and receive.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Typically, no. If you are needing a design eye to assist you with selections for smaller spaces, we can help. But we know what we’re best at so we choose to focus on specializing in styling and furnishing already-built new homes and existing interiors.

  • We love hearing the stories behind your treasured pieces and are open to considering what you already have. However, if you’re looking for a complete transformation to a different style, not all existing items are going to work in your new design. We’ll discuss your goals for your space and provide our expert recommendation on what to keep and what needs to be added.

  • Part of the value we provide our design clients and our subscription box customers is exposing them to new products they may have never seen before. We have a range of go-to partners, trade sources and favorite local or national vendors we source from for our clients’ homes, as well as our own KB Home inventory. With the exception of our UPDATE service, we typically don’t source from big-box retailers to ensure the items we find are truly unique.

  • The short answer is that a well styled room takes time. Every project is different and timelines vary. We take the time to get to know you and understand your tastes and needs upfront and then source items accordingly. Because we don’t only rely on big-box retail to style your space, you may expect a longer styling process in order to find everything we need to make the room the show-stopping look we are known for–but we promise the results are worth the wait!

  • No. We ask that our clients trust us to have their tastes and their project goals in mind as we sift through the many potential options to find the best items for them.

  • No, but it can be an inspirational starting point. Our goal is to help you custom tailor your space to your style, needs, and life. Inspiration images are helpful to show us what you like and don’t like as we design something totally unique that works just for you!
